Chair massages are a great way to show appreciation to staff or employees, or to make your next party or event special and memorable! Chair Massages at events are performed back-to-back, usually in 10-15-20 minute increments. Massage recipients are fully clothed and little or no lotion is applied, so everyone is able to return to their activities immediately.( An additional 10 minutes per hour is added to allow time for getting in and out of the chair.)

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines massage cream or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation, which in turn improves the function of all of the systems of the body. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, better sleep and greater flexibility.

Swedish Massage is performed on the massage table. You will be asked to disrobe (you may leave underwear on if you prefer). I will step out for a moment (generally into a bathroom, other room or outside, depending on where we set up) to wash up and allow you privacy while you get under the top sheet and comfortably on the table. If you need assistance, don't worry, I know draping techniques that will get you into place while still protecting your privacy.  The top sheet is used to cover all parts of the body except the part that is being massaged.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. It uses similar movements as Swedish Massage, but with much deeper and more concentrated pressure. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the intense nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't become uncomfortable. Remember to drink plenty of water after your massage, to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be a bit painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Chair Massage is very effective in treating upper body pain such as shoulders, neck and rotator cuff problems.

Aromatherapy

Did you know the sense of smell is the most cognitive of the senses? Different scents and aromas can effect one's mood in different ways. Ever caught just a whiff of something familiar that took you back to a place in your memory?  I offer a range of essential oils to choose from:

  • Lavender - evokes feelings of calmness and serenity
  • Eucalyptus - medicinal, helps clear breathing
  • Sweet Orange - energizing, uplifting
  • Clary Sage - relaxing, euphoric
  • Lemongrass -revitalizing, stress & anxiety relief
  • Patchouli - uplifting, soothes hyperactivity
